oh! oops! :D I actually probably will. I just found the original Exiles first collection (I think volumes 1-19) at my library, and I loved it! So I'll keep reading them!

sorry if i am such a fan, but damn, this is how I want to draw..... the light source, the perspective, the contrast, the emotion, damn. The painted version is beautiful too! I don't think I've ever thought Mimic could put the fear in someone.... I wonder what happened in this story, heh, and speaking of wich, STORYTELLING! damn..... (will stop gushing now.....)

the inks on this really are spectacular. especially what I assume is the dry-brush technique used in the shadows? Very cool

In general I prefer inked and colored work over straight out painted. So I think I'm with the consensus here that's the angle that should have been taken, but you can't really control that.

Secondly when it comes to coloring/painting I prefer another style to the one they used. I generally prefer stuff that looks like animation or a softer style like Mucha. But that's just me.

Eh. Look on the bright side at least you did a cool pic and got paid [I hope].

I'm agreeing with Paul here, I saw the solicitation and didn't actually recognize it as yours. Clearly it wasn't the same guy who colored your Wolverine: First Class cover. There is a lot of subtlety in your hatching here and I wish they could have retained that. The texture in the shadow of that leg is really nice too.

I had seen the cover in the solicitations, but I wasn't sure to recognize your work. Now I understand why.
I'm not blaming anyone here, but the best colorists IMHO are the ones who talk to the artist beforehand.

Anyway, here we are able to see the original art in its full glory thanks to Deviant A.
GREAT inking man!

Dude I'm so sorry this happened to you. But maybe he/she was told to do that or that is the way that he/she colors, in which case they should have just let them do their own thing or had you do less work.

In my opinion it would have looked better with a standard coloring job. This looks bland.

But your art was awesome. I aspire to feather cleanly like you do. What do you ink with?

In one hand, I think the coloring looks pretty awesome, but on the other hand... You did a whole inking job that turned out to be useless since it disappeared fro the final pic. You could just have sent a penciled pic to be colored this way. I assume you didn't know how the colores were going to look?

Cool piece. If they were going to color it that way, why did they even have you ink it? All of your line work has disappeared! Did you know it was going to be colored like that? I don't know how I feel about that.
