Here is yet another Batman drawing...
I was motivated by the last three Marvel Icons
that I did...I HAD to take on the DC Icons.
I was going for a modern look of the original Bob
Kane Bat suit.
Kelsey Shannon (Roboworks) [link] is and has done the coloring on my
work to bring it to a whole other level.

i think i know what it is...the highlight of the belt is so intence against the flats of the cape, that it stands out. I think some gery tones like you did on the chest, may have helped the belt (which is indeed farther than the chest), to appear further...

It is brilliantly done.
Don't you feel the belt is a little high and wide, either that, or the body is not long enough? I know you foreshortened, but to me the belt is a tad problematic. It is either too wide, or does not have enough perspective going further from the viewer...Potentially some shade like you did on the left of the belt (the small shaded tip) may have worked well on the right also where the cape would have blocked some light. It will also have created a farther feel for the belt going around the body if you know what i mean...
