To be honest, a lesser artist this would look really dumb, but dammit, you make it work perfectly. It's actually much better than Darwyn Cooke & Adam Hughe's designs. I especially love the little Egyptian style necklace, & it's awesome how the eyes on her mask change expression along with her face. Bravo Dave, bravo.
I really do love that Catwoman mask. Although if I could make one suggestion, I'd probably leave out the nose & mouth on the mask & just have it be more like Batman's cowl. You can keep the overall shape though. And DEFINITELY the eyes I also think it's be really cool, if, like an actual cat's eyes the pupils would slit or expand depending on emotion(i.e wide if happy, flirty, confused or sad, & slit if angry, focused or excited).
It's kind of sad to me how Catwoman's become this awesome, femme fatale anti-heroine, since that was originally Black Cat's shtick. When she first appeared in Spider-Man, Catwoman was still just another batman villain with a gimmick, but now everyone looks at Black Cat & thinks she's Marvel's homage, or worse, rip-off of Catwoman. Though to be fair, it probably works better on Catwoman, since her costume looks more like a Cat, & it's perfect for her to be a romantic for Batman, a no nonsense hero with no time for a love life, whereas Spidey's a teenager, already chasing after several other women (Betty Brant, Gwen Stacy, Liz Allan & of course MJ). That's why I always liked her super soldier persona from the 90's cartoon more. She kicked alot more ass, 7 plus I always found the transformation sequence pretty hot
Anyway, enough of my rambling! How you doing? You working on anything at the moment?
I know. I meant in terms of characterization. Before Frank Miller, Catwoman was just one of Batman's villains. It was Frank Miller who basically created the femme fatale anti-heroine we know today in terms of character, but Black Cat was she was first introduced twenty years earlier was already like that for Spider-Man.
